According to the recent reports by the measurement firm 11.6 million American females were found to download a ringtone currently compared to 9.9 million American males, which is not a small population. Not only this female ringtone purchasers also differ in their musical preferences. Female generally like to purchase pop ringtones and country ringtones whereas male would like to purchase heavy metal and hard rock ringtones.

It is amazing to find the early adopters of ringtone technology the male being replaced by females who want to access their cell phones much the same way they access their outfits because ringtones are all about making a personal statement of who you are. Ringtones are not confined to professionally recorded songs and sound clips but with the latest computer technology you can also create your own ringtones.
